Lead qualification · Pakistan
How an AI agent qualifies leads in Pakistan: three real-world examples
An AI agent qualifies a lead by asking the questions you put in its prompt, writing the answers down and ending with a next step: a booked visit, a scheduled callback or a handover to a person. Below are three made-up conversations from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, the questions that matter when buying is decided by a family and paid for in instalments or from a house sale, and what we could and could not verify about following up a lead in Pakistan.
Example 1 · Inbound call
Can the agent qualify a plot enquiry that arrives after office hours?
Yes. It confirmed the plot was still listed, learned why the caller was buying, how much he could spend and when the money would arrive, and booked a viewing with the dealer for Saturday.
- Name: Imran Qureshi
- Need: 10 marla plot to build on
- Budget: About Rs 4 crore
- Funds: From a house sale, about two months
- Next step: Viewing with the dealer, Saturday 11:00
Example 2 · Outbound follow-up call
How does the agent call back a web-form lead who asked to be called?
It said who was calling and why, offered to stop, asked four short questions and learned that the decision-maker was away. It scheduled a callback in three weeks instead of pushing for a quote.
- Name: Ayesha
- Need: Rooftop solar, early research
- Home: Owned, 5 marla
- Summer bill: About Rs 60,000
- Decision-maker: Husband, away for a month
- Next step: Callback in three weeks, after 18:00
Example 3 · WhatsApp
Can the agent qualify an admissions enquiry on WhatsApp?
It established the year, the board, the subjects, the preferred batch and the area, then offered a trial class and booked it before passing the family to the counsellor.
- Student: Hira Siddiqui
- Need: AS Chemistry and Biology
- Board: Cambridge, O-levels done in June
- Batch: Evening
- Area: Gulshan-e-Iqbal
- Next step: Trial class Thursday 18:00
Questions to ask
What should the agent ask a lead in Pakistan?
You write these into the agent's prompt, in your own words and in your customers' language.
| Question | Why it matters here |
|---|---|
| Is the property, system or course for you, or for the family? | Many purchases in Pakistan are decided by more than one person. Knowing who decides tells you whether to book a visit or schedule a callback for when they are back. |
| What is your budget, and how will it be paid? | For property, money that depends on selling another house or arrives in instalments changes the timing. For solar, the size of the summer electricity bill is the budget signal. |
| Which area or neighbourhood? | Service areas matter in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, where a visit across the city can take a long time. Phases, blocks and towns tell you whether you can serve the lead at all. |
| Do you own the place, or rent? | A tenant cannot usually put panels on a roof or commit to a purchase. It decides whether the lead is a buyer today or a future one. |
| When do you need it, and what sets the date? | A school year, a house sale or a summer bill gives a real deadline. "Just exploring" with no date is a cold lead. |
| Would you like us to continue in Urdu or English, and what time suits you? | Offering the language and the time keeps the call polite, and a callback the lead chose is more likely to be answered. |
| Are you happy to be messaged on WhatsApp on this number? | It records permission for follow-up messages before you send any, which is your responsibility, not a check the platform makes. |
Reading the outcome
Hot, warm or cold: what happens next.
The bands are the ones you describe in the prompt, then read off each call's outcome and transcript.
| Band | What it means | What you do next |
|---|---|---|
| Hot | A clear need, a budget that fits, a date within weeks and the decision-maker on the line. These bands are what you write into the agent's prompt and read off each call's outcome; ThinnestAI does not score leads for you. | Book a viewing, visit or consultation straight away, or hand the lead to a person the same day. Read the transcript before you meet them. |
| Warm | Real interest but one thing missing: the decision-maker, the money or the date. | Schedule a callback inside your calling hours, or message on WhatsApp if the lead agreed to it. Send what they asked for and no more. |
| Cold | Exploring, not the decision-maker, or not able to act for months. | Do not chase. Offer a callback date if they want one, add anyone who says stop to your do-not-contact list at once, and check back later. |
The rules
What the rules say about following up a lead in Pakistan.
Consent, do-not-call lists, calling hours and recording are set by local law, and you are responsible for them.
Who regulates marketing calls and messages?
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) made the Protection from Spam, Unsolicited, Fraudulent and Obnoxious Communication Regulations, 2009, which are addressed to telecom operators and call for a Do Not Call Register that operators run; press reports say PTA told operators in 2021 to implement it properly. Section 25 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA) says a person doing direct marketing must offer the recipient the option to unsubscribe, and in June 2022 PTA was reported as saying that marketing messages sent without consent breach its rules and section 25. We read these through press reports and a legal summary, not the official texts. Read the official text on the PTA website and pakistancode.gov.pk; this is not legal advice.
Calling a lead who filled in a form
In the sources we read we did not find a Pakistani rule on calling hours for a business making its own calls, on a form-fill counting as consent for a call, or on AI-voiced calls, so treat those as unsettled. The platform sets no calling window of its own and does not screen numbers against any register. You set calling hours per campaign on the called person's clock, keep your own do-not-contact list, and write an opening line that says who is calling, why, and that it is an AI, as in the solar example. Keep proof of when and how the lead asked to be contacted. For WhatsApp, keep proof of opt-in before sending marketing templates. Sources read on 25 October 2026; not legal advice.
Recording and data
Secondary summaries describe PECA section 19 (unauthorised interception) and treat Pakistan as an all-party-consent country for recording private conversations, and a March 2026 Supreme Court judgment was reported as holding that secretly recording a private conversation is criminal; reports differ on how far it goes and we have not read the judgment. Say in the opening line that a call may be recorded and keep recording off unless you need it. Pakistan had no comprehensive data-protection law in the 2026 guides we read, and the Personal Data Protection Bill's status was unclear. We support region deployments for enterprise customers. Local notes
What is different in Pakistan.
- Voice agents speak Urdu and English, and Hindi too. Punjabi, Sindhi and Pashto voice agents are not offered, and no regional accent is claimed. Replies on WhatsApp and website chat run in 37 languages, and Urdu is one of them.
- Many callers mix Urdu and English in a sentence. Ring your own agent with the phrases your leads use before you put it on real calls, and tune the instructions from the transcripts.
- The agent works on the phone and WhatsApp. Facebook Messenger and Instagram messages are not channels it answers, so if leads arrive from social media, give them a phone number or WhatsApp number to reach it.
- Ask each lead for a callback time and keep it. The agent schedules callbacks inside the calling hours you set for the campaign, on the lead's clock. Whether a carrier can give you a +92 number is for that carrier to say; the agent uses a number you hold on your own Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account.
