Pakistan
An Urdu and English AI phone agent for businesses in Pakistan.
thinnest answers your calls in Urdu or English, books appointments, takes messages and replies to customers on WhatsApp, for clinics, shops, restaurants and agencies in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and beyond.
AI call answering
What does an AI phone agent do for a business in Pakistan?
It answers the calls you would otherwise miss, whether the team is with a customer, the shop is shut or every line is busy, and deals with them the way a good front desk would: a booking, a message, an answer from your price list, or a transfer to you.
The call above came in after the clinic had closed. Without an agent it would have gone unanswered and the patient would have tried the next clinic on the list. With one, the slot is in the diary by morning.
- Bookings go into your calendar through Cal.com, or into your own system through its API.
- Questions about fees, timings and locations are answered from your website and documents.
- Every call gets a transcript and an outcome; recording is a switch you turn on for each agent. More on the AI receptionist page.

Urdu voice AI
Can an AI agent speak Urdu on the phone?
Yes. Voice agents speak Urdu and English: pick an Urdu voice from the voice library, filtering by gender and age and listening before you choose, and the agent uses it on every call.
Replies on WhatsApp and website chat run in 37 languages, and Urdu is one of them. Hindi is available for voice too, for callers who are more comfortable in it.
To be plain about the limits: Punjabi, Sindhi and Pashto voice agents are not offered, and we do not claim regional accents. Many callers in Pakistan mix Urdu and English in one sentence, so ring your own agent with the kinds of phrases your customers use before you go live, and tune the script from the transcripts.
Can the same agent answer customers on WhatsApp?
Yes. Connect a WhatsApp Business API number and one agent answers on WhatsApp, on your website chat and on the phone, with one memory of each customer, matched by phone number.
A shopper who messages on WhatsApp and rings the next day is recognised by the number. The agent can say they have spoken before, and holds back what was said until the person verifies who they are.
- Everything runs inside thinnest: templates, broadcasts and the shared inbox, where your staff can take over a chat at any time. See WhatsApp Business API.
- Facebook Messenger and Instagram messages are not channels the agent answers. If much of your selling happens there, plan to move customers to WhatsApp or your website.
Your number
Can I use my Pakistani phone number?
If the number lives on a Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account you hold, connect the account and the agent answers that number. We don't sell Pakistani numbers.
- Whether a carrier can give you a +92 number, and on what terms, is for that carrier to say. Ask it before you plan around one.
- Number with another phone provider? Forward your calls to a number you hold on one of those accounts.
- Transfer to a person and voicemail detection work on Plivo and Telnyx numbers. An imported Twilio number answers and records, but can't transfer or detect voicemail.
- Telnyx calls only the countries switched on in your outbound voice profile, so add Pakistan before making outbound calls.

Outbound calls and messages
What rules apply to marketing calls and messages in Pakistan?
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) regulates spam and unsolicited communication, and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA) requires anyone doing direct marketing to give recipients a way to unsubscribe. You are responsible for following them; we do not screen numbers against any register.
- PTA made the Protection from Spam, Unsolicited, Fraudulent and Obnoxious Communication Regulations, 2009. They are addressed to telecom operators, and press reports say PTA told operators in 2021 to run the Do Not Call Register properly.
- PECA section 25 says a person doing direct marketing must offer the recipient the option to unsubscribe. In June 2022 PTA was reported as saying that marketing messages sent without consent breach its rules and section 25, and that promotional SMS through telemarketers would go only to customers who had opted in.
- In the sources we read we did not find a Pakistani rule on calling hours for a business making its own calls, or one on AI-voiced calls. Treat that as unsettled and set hours that are reasonable on the called person's clock.
The product gives you tools such as a do-not-contact list you keep, calling hours you set for each campaign, an opening line that says who is calling and why (you write it, so it can say the caller is an AI), and a transcript of every call. Answering your own inbound calls is a different matter from cold calling; most businesses start there.
Sources: PTA and press reports, read on 25 October 2026. Read the official text on the PTA website and on pakistancode.gov.pk. This is not legal advice.
Recording and data
Can I record calls, and is there a data-protection law?
Tell callers at the start that the call may be recorded, and keep recording off until you have done so. Pakistan had no comprehensive data-protection law in the sources we read, and call-recording law deserves care.
- Recording: secondary summaries describe PECA section 19 (unauthorised interception) and treat Pakistan as an all-party-consent country. A March 2026 Supreme Court judgment was reported as holding that secretly recording a private conversation is criminal. The reports differ on how far it goes, so we state no more than that. Ask a Pakistani lawyer, and read the judgment.
- Data protection: the Personal Data Protection Bill has been pending for years. Guides read in 2026 say it had not been enacted, and its current status is unclear. Check before you rely on either answer.
Calls are processed partly in other countries, with speech recognition in the EU and the voice and the language model in the US, under transfer safeguards. We also support region deployments for enterprise customers. The privacy policy sets out the detail. Sources read on 25 October 2026; not legal advice.
Sign-up and billing
How do I sign up and pay from Pakistan?
Start free in your browser, build the agent and ring it from the page. Paid plans are billed in US dollars by card, through a merchant of record that handles sales tax and VAT where they apply. Prices are on the pricing page.
Your bank converts the charge into rupees. Whether your bank or card allows payments to overseas merchants is something only your bank can confirm, so check it before you plan around a paid plan.
