Lead qualification · Saudi Arabia
How does an AI agent qualify leads for a business in Saudi Arabia?
It asks the questions you put in its prompt, listens, handles a "not now", and ends with a clear next step: a booking, a callback or a handover to your team. The three examples below are made-up calls for a property developer in Al Khobar, a clinic in Jeddah and a car dealership in Riyadh, shown in English although the calls are in Arabic. The Saudi rules on promotional calls are set out at the end.
Example 1 · Inbound call
Can the agent qualify a caller asking about a villa off-plan?
The agent finds out what the caller wants to buy, the budget range and how they intend to pay, and books a sales viewing. The call was in Arabic and is shown in English.
- Interest: 4-bedroom villa, own use
- Budget: About SAR 1.6 million
- Payment: Bank financing, not yet applied
- Next step: Visit Thu 16:30
Example 2 · Outbound follow-up call
Can the agent follow up a web-form lead who asked to be called?
The agent says who is calling and why, confirms the person asked for the call and offers to stop. This lead is not ready, so the agent schedules a callback instead of pushing a booking.
- Interest: Underarm laser, first time
- Timing: After the 20th
- Consent: Asked for the call on the web form
- Next step: Callback, afternoon
Example 3 · Inbound call
Can the agent take a test-drive enquiry after the showroom closes?
The agent notes the model, whether there is a car to trade in and when the caller can come, and books a test drive for the next morning. WhatsApp replies from the agent are not available in Arabic, so the booking is confirmed by a message template.
- Model: Hybrid SUV
- Trade-in: 2019 sedan
- Payment: Finance, four years
- Next step: Test drive 10:00
Questions to ask
What should the agent ask a lead in Saudi Arabia?
You write these into the agent's prompt, in your own words and in your customers' language.
| Question | Why it matters here |
|---|---|
| Is this for living in or for investment? | Developers and agents run different conversations for each, and the follow-up differs. |
| What is your budget range, and will you pay in cash or use bank financing? | Financing changes the timeline and what the sales adviser prepares for the visit. |
| Which city or district do you want to be in? | Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province are different sales teams and different stock. |
| Do you have a car or property to trade in or sell first? | It decides whether the offer depends on another sale and how soon the buyer can move. |
| Which language would you like to continue in, Arabic or English? | Callers may prefer either; ask once and hand over to a staff member who speaks it. |
| Who else decides, and would they come to the visit? | In many households the decision is shared, and the visit should include whoever signs. |
Reading the outcome
Hot, warm or cold: what happens next.
The bands are the ones you describe in the prompt, then read off each call's outcome and transcript.
| Band | What it means | What you do next |
|---|---|---|
| Hot | Clear need, budget in range, financing route known, and a visit or test drive booked in the next few days. | Confirm by a message, make sure a named adviser has the details and ring them the day before. |
| Warm | Interested but missing something: financing not started, a decision-maker absent, or timing a month away. | Book a callback inside permitted hours and send the brochure or unit plans they asked for. |
| Cold | Browsing, travelling, or just asked for a price. The bands are what you write into the agent's prompt, not a built-in score. | Note the date they gave, call once then, and stop if they say no. Add anyone who asks to stop to your do-not-contact list. |
The rules
What the rules say about following up a lead in Saudi Arabia.
Consent, do-not-call lists, calling hours and recording are set by local law, and you are responsible for them.
Calling a lead who filled in a form
The communications regulator (CST) requires express agreement to promotional calls: consent in a privacy policy or service contract does not count, and the caller must be able to prove consent. The person can ask to stop at any time, calls must stop within 24 hours of the request, and the caller must say at the start the reason for the call, the entity it represents and whether the person wants to continue. Source: CST Regulations for Curbing SPAM Messages & Calls, Version Three (October 2022), decision 493/1444, section 5.2, read 25 October 2026. Whether a call the person requested counts as promotional, and how an AI agent is classified, we could not verify: ask your adviser, and make the form tick box say that you may call. Calling hours and Ramadan
The same text says promotional and awareness calls are not permitted from 10:00 pm to 9:00 am daily, and in Ramadan from 1:00 am to 12:00 pm, Saudi time. The platform sets no calling window of its own: you set the hours for each campaign on the called person's clock, inside these limits. It also says calls received from parties outside the Kingdom must be service or personal calls only, so ask your adviser and carrier about promotional calls placed from a number on a foreign carrier account. WhatsApp opt-in and where the data goes
Meta's WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy (page dated 23 September 2026, read 25 October 2026) requires opt-in before you message anyone and respect for opt-outs. The agent's own WhatsApp replies are not available in Arabic. We support region deployments for enterprise customers. Not legal advice.

Local notes
What is different in Saudi Arabia.
- Voice: the agent speaks Arabic and English. We claim the language, not a regional dialect, so test the voice with your own callers. English accents such as American, British, Indian and Philippine are in the library.
- Channel: phone is the channel where the agent can work in Arabic. Its WhatsApp and chat replies are not available in Arabic, so use WhatsApp for templates you write in Arabic and have your team answer.
- Timing: Ramadan changes when people can be called, and the CST text gives different hours for that month. Move your campaign hours before it begins.
- We found no reliable national figure on how Saudi buyers prefer to be contacted, so we make no claim about it; ask your first fifty leads and adjust.
