Voice AI use cases for businesses in Ireland
A voice AI agent answers the phone in English with an Irish accent, books, takes messages and hands over to your team. These eight use cases come from trades, clinics, offices and guesthouses in Cork, Dublin, Galway, Limerick and beyond, with the limits and rules that apply in Ireland.
Eight use cases
How businesses in Ireland use voice ai.
Fictional businesses in real places, to show what the agent does with calls.
01 — Plumbing and heating · Cork
Leak and boiler calls before the plumber is out of bed
A leak call at 06:50 is an emergency, and a quote request is not. The agent asks the address and whether the water is off, and rings the on-call plumber only for the first.
- Answer with an Irish accent and ask the problem and the address.
- Apply your urgency rules.
- Transfer to the on-call plumber on a Plivo or Telnyx number, or schedule a callback otherwise.
- Book non-urgent jobs for the morning.
The plumber is woken for real emergencies and starts the day with a sorted list.
02 — Dental practice · Limerick
Check-up and urgent appointments
With both hygienists busy, calls go unanswered. The agent books check-ups and flags urgent pain for a same-day slot, leaving anything clinical to the dentist.
- Ask routine or urgent and the patient's name.
- Book through Cal.com.
- Send a confirmation by message.
- Pass questions about treatment or medical-card cover to reception.
Fewer missed calls and fewer gaps in the diary.
03 — Solicitor's office · Kilkenny
Conveyancing enquiries without legal advice
First-time buyers ring after an offer is accepted. The agent takes the property, the finance stage and the urgency, and books a call with the solicitor. It never gives legal advice.
- Say it is an automated assistant and cannot give legal advice.
- Take the area, the stage of the sale and whether approval in principle is in place.
- Book a callback with the solicitor.
- Pass the transcript on.
The solicitor rings back with the details to hand and urgent files are marked.
04 — Guesthouse and tour desk · Galway
Seasonal and festival-week enquiries
In festival weeks the phone rings constantly with questions on rooms, parking and directions. The agent answers from your guide and passes rate and group questions to you.
- Answer from the guide you uploaded: check-in times, parking, directions.
- Take dates and group size for room requests.
- Leave rate questions for the owner with the details attached.
- Send directions by message after the booking is confirmed.
Visitors get answers at once and the owner confirms bookings from a tidy list.
05 — Estate agent · Waterford
Qualifying property and rental viewings
Buyers and tenants ring about listings. The agent asks the budget, the timing and the area, and books viewings for the right negotiator.
- Answer from the listing information.
- Ask the questions you wrote: budget, move-in date, household.
- Book a viewing through Cal.com.
- Mark the lead hot, warm or cold as you defined.
Negotiators attend viewings with people who are ready.
06 — Accountancy · Dublin
Overflow for an accountancy practice at filing time
In busy weeks the phone never stops. The agent answers common questions, takes new enquiries in full and books consultations, and never gives tax advice.
- Answer questions on opening hours and documents to bring.
- Take the caller's situation in their own words.
- Book a consultation.
- Hand anything that needs advice to an accountant with the transcript.
Accountants return to structured enquiries instead of a stack of voicemails.
07 — Solar installer · Limerick
Calling back web-form leads who asked about solar panels
A visitor asked on the website to be called. The agent says who is calling and why, offers to stop, asks about the roof, ownership and timing, and books a survey or a callback.
- Open with the business name and the reason, and offer to stop.
- Ask owner or tenant, roof direction and timing.
- Book a survey, or schedule a callback inside calling hours when the person says not now.
- Add anyone who declines to your do-not-contact list.
Surveys go to people who asked and are ready, and the rest hear from you only when they said they would.
08 — Physiotherapy clinic · Sligo
Appointments for a sports and physiotherapy clinic
Patients ring to book, move or cancel. The agent handles all three and offers a cancelled slot to the next patient.
- Identify the caller by phone number.
- Move or cancel in the calendar through Cal.com.
- Offer the freed slot to the next person on the list.
- Pass clinical questions to the team.
Fewer unused slots and no phone interrupting treatment.
In practice
How voice ai is used in Ireland.
- We found no reliable national figure for voice-agent adoption or phone-answering habits in Ireland, so we quote none.
- Voice agents speak English with an Irish accent and 49 other languages, including Polish, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Ukrainian, which helps where customers' first language is not English.
- Irish (Gaeilge) is not supported on the phone or in chat.
Plainly
What this will not do for you in Ireland.
So you can rule it in or out before you start.
- Irish (Gaeilge) is not supported, neither as a voice language nor in chat.
- We do not sell Irish phone numbers; you import your own from a Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account, and outbound calls on Telnyx need Ireland switched on in your outbound voice profile.
- Transfer to a person and voicemail detection do not work on an imported Twilio number.
- The product does not check the National Directory Database or collect consent for outbound calls.
The rules
The rules that apply in Ireland.
The rules differ by country and change; you are responsible for following them where you operate.
Outbound calls: the ePrivacy Regulations
Under the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. 336 of 2011), the Data Protection Commission's FAQ (read 25 October 2026) says marketing calls to mobile phones are prohibited unless the subscriber has told the caller they consent, or has given general consent recorded in the National Directory Database (NDD) for that number. For landlines, calls are allowed unless the person has objected or is on the NDD opt-out register, and an existing business relationship does not override an instruction not to call. The general rule for electronic direct marketing is clear, affirmative consent. ComReg handles failures to record an opt-out. We could not read the statute or verify how an AI voice agent is classified, and we found no fixed calling-hours rule. Read the official text; not legal advice.
GDPR and recording
We support region deployments for enterprise customers. Calls are processed partly in other countries under transfer safeguards. Recording is off by default; if you switch it on, say so in the opening line. Read the official text; not legal advice.
