Voice AI use cases for businesses in Vietnam

A voice AI agent answers your phone in Vietnamese, English or Mandarin, books, takes messages and hands calls to a person. These eight Vietnam use cases are the calls hotels, clinics, factories and schools most often miss, with the local rules for outbound calls and a plain note on what it does not cover (Zalo).

Eight use cases

How businesses in Vietnam use voice ai.

Fictional businesses in real places, to show what the agent does with calls.

01 — Boutique hotel · Hoi An

Answering late-evening room enquiries and pickup requests

Guests abroad call when reception has closed. The agent answers room and pickup questions from your rate sheet and leaves a clear request.

  1. Asks the dates, the number of guests and the room type.
  2. Answers questions about the pool, breakfast and directions from the knowledge base.
  3. Takes a pickup request with the flight time.
  4. Leaves a transcript and request for reception in the morning.

Reception starts the day with ready-to-confirm requests instead of missed calls.

02 — Family clinic · Ho Chi Minh City, District 7

Booking check-ups and vaccinations in Vietnamese or English

Expatriate and local families call during consultations. The agent books routine visits and passes clinical questions to the team.

  1. Greets in Vietnamese or English and asks the reason for the visit.
  2. Books the slot in the calendar through Cal.com.
  3. Hands symptoms and urgent concerns to the clinic team.
  4. Leaves a transcript for staff.

Routine bookings are taken while staff stay with patients.

03 — Furniture factory · Binh Duong

Taking buyer calls in English or Mandarin after the office closes

Buyers in Europe and China ring outside Vietnam office hours. The agent gathers product, quantity and destination.

  1. Asks the product, quantity and destination port.
  2. Asks whether the buyer needs a sample or has a drawing.
  3. Answers lead-time questions from the documents you load.
  4. Alerts the sales manager with a transcript.

The sales manager replies the next morning with the buyer's needs already written down.

04 — English language centre · Hanoi

Answering parents' questions and booking placement tests

Parents call after work asking about levels and fees. The agent answers and books a placement test.

  1. Asks the child's age and learning goal.
  2. Answers timetable and location questions from the knowledge base.
  3. Books a placement test in the calendar.
  4. Sends a message with the address and what to bring.

Placement tests are booked when parents call, not when the centre next rings back.

05 — Tour operator · Da Nang

Answering booking and route questions for day tours

Guests call about routes, group sizes and pickup times. The agent answers from the tour sheets and records booking requests.

  1. Answers route, duration and inclusions from the tour sheets.
  2. Asks the date, group size and hotel for pickup.
  3. Records the request for the team to confirm.
  4. Transfers to a person for custom itineraries.

The team confirms prepared requests instead of answering the same route questions repeatedly.

06 — Freight forwarder · Hai Phong

Taking quote requests for freight with origin and cargo

Exporters ring for quotes. The agent takes the shipment details so a sales person can price quickly.

  1. Asks the origin, destination and cargo type.
  2. Asks the weight or volume and the target ship date.
  3. Books a call with the sales team.
  4. Logs the transcript.

Quotes start with complete shipment details instead of a back-and-forth.

07 — Homestay and cafe · Da Lat

Answering room and table questions for a homestay and cafe

Owners are serving customers when the phone rings. The agent answers at any hour and passes group bookings on.

  1. Answers room, check-in and house-rule questions from the knowledge base.
  2. Takes table and room requests with dates.
  3. Passes groups above your limit to the owner.
  4. Leaves a message and transcript.

Owners stay with guests and see only the bookings that need a decision.

08 — Dive and watersports shop · Nha Trang

Calling back a web-form lead who asked to be called

A visitor asked on the website for a call about a course. An outbound campaign rings inside hours you set.

  1. Opens by saying who is calling, why, and that the call can stop.
  2. Asks experience level, dates and group size.
  3. Records the booking request or schedules a callback.
  4. Adds anyone who says stop to your do-not-contact list.

Visitors who asked for a call are reached while they are still planning, inside hours you chose.

In practice

How voice ai is used in Vietnam.

  • Voice agents speak Vietnamese, English and Mandarin. We claim the language, not a northern, central or southern accent.
  • International workspaces import a number from Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo. We do not sell +84 numbers and have not verified which Vietnamese numbers those providers can hold; forwarding your line is the simplest start.
  • Transfer to a person and voicemail detection work on Plivo and Telnyx numbers, not on an imported Twilio number.
  • We found no reliable national figure for phone-answering habits, so judge the need from your own missed-call log.

Plainly

What this will not do for you in Vietnam.

So you can rule it in or out before you start.

  • No Zalo: we do not integrate with Zalo, so it cannot answer Zalo messages or calls.
  • Mandarin is voice-only: WhatsApp and chat replies cover Vietnamese and English, not Mandarin.
  • It does not check the national do-not-advertise list or store proof of consent; both are yours to do.
  • It does not give medical advice or negotiate custom itineraries. Tell it which calls go to a person.

The rules

The rules that apply in Vietnam.

The rules differ by country and change; you are responsible for following them where you operate.

Advertising calls: Decree 91/2020 as reported

Vietnamese legal press and law-firm pages read on 25 October 2026 (not the official text) report that Decree 91/2020/ND-CP lets advertisers call only people who agreed in advance to receive advertising, and requires a check of the national do-not-advertise list (people join by SMS to 5656 or at khongquangcao.ais.gov.vn). Press quotes Article 13 as allowing advertising calls from 8:00 to 17:00 unless the user agreed otherwise. A draft replacement decree appeared in September 2026; we could not confirm its status. The platform sets no calling window of its own; you set the hours per campaign. Read the official text; not legal advice.

Personal data and recording

The Law on Personal Data Protection (No. 91/2025/QH15) has applied since 1 January 2026, with Decree 356/2025/ND-CP; summaries say silence is not consent and you must be able to show proof of it, and that sending data abroad needs an impact assessment. We support region deployments for enterprise customers. Recording is off by default; tell callers if you switch it on. Read the official text; not legal advice.
