Voice AI platforms compared, for Singapore businesses
A Singapore business should check five things: whether the agent speaks the languages your callers mix, whether you can keep your +65 number, how AI calls sit with the Do Not Call Registry, what the PDPA means for recordings and overseas transfers, and whether WhatsApp is part of the same agent. ThinnestAI is set beside three developer platforms on each check, with the sources and the date we read them.
What to check
Five things to check before you choose, in Singapore.
Put the last column to every supplier you are weighing, ThinnestAI included.
| Check | Why it matters in Singapore | ThinnestAI | Ask any supplier |
|---|---|---|---|
| The languages your callers mix | Callers in Singapore move between English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil, sometimes inside one sentence, and a clinic or a tuition centre hears all four in a week. | Voice agents speak English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Chat and WhatsApp replies cover English and Tamil but not Mandarin or Malay. We don't claim Singlish or Chinese dialects such as Hokkien or Teochew, and mixed-language sentences may be misheard, so read the transcripts in the first weeks. | Which of my callers' languages work by voice and which by chat, and can someone who speaks them at home try the agent before I connect my number? |
| A +65 number you can keep | Singapore numbers are eight digits starting with 3, 6, 8 or 9, and a business that has printed one on its van, flyers and listings does not want to change it. | Connect the number from your own Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account, port it there if the provider allows it, or forward calls to one. We don't sell +65 numbers and have not tested every carrier route. A Telnyx account must have Singapore switched on before it can call out. | Can the agent answer the number my customers already ring, and who controls that number if I stop using you? |
| Do Not Call rules for AI calls | Under Part 9 of the PDPA, the PDPC says you must check the Do Not Call Registry before a marketing call, with results valid for 21 days, unless the person gave clear and unambiguous consent in evidential form. It reads a voice call as including a recorded or synthetic voice, so AI calls are covered (read 25 October 2026). | You set calling hours per campaign on the called person's clock, keep your own do-not-contact list and write an opening line that says who is calling. The agent does not check the Registry and holds no consent record. We state no Singapore calling hours because we found none in the guidance. | Who checks the Registry before a campaign runs, and where is the consent record for a person I call? |
| Recording and overseas transfers | The PDPC treats a customer's voice recording as personal data, and the PDPA transfer rule, section 26, leaves you responsible when a data intermediary handles data overseas. | Recording is a per-agent switch that stays off until you turn it on, and the opening line is yours to write, so it can say the call is recorded. We support region deployments for enterprise customers. We make no claim that our terms meet section 26; ask your adviser, and read the privacy policy. | Is recording off by default, and what do you give me in writing for the PDPA transfer rule? |
| WhatsApp and billing | The PDPC says the Do Not Call rules reach WhatsApp when it uses a Singapore number, so a promotion by app needs the same care as a call. | One agent answers the phone, WhatsApp, website chat and Telegram, with one memory of each customer. Billing is in US dollars by card; there is no Singapore-dollar billing. | Does one agent cover both calls and WhatsApp, and what currency is the invoice in? |

Other options
Other kinds of supplier in Singapore.
Kinds of supplier, not companies. Each is the right call for someone.
A virtual receptionist service
Staff who speak Mandarin, Malay or Tamil can answer for you, judge a worried parent or patient and pass the call on. It is the better call when every caller needs a person from the first word. It cannot take a hundred calls at once or work through a list of leads.
A local cloud-phone supplier
A phone-system supplier can hold your +65 number, route calls to staff and play a menu or voicemail. That is simple and keeps the number where it is. It does not understand a question, book a job or leave you a transcript to read.
A WhatsApp provider for businesses
A provider that sells WhatsApp Business messaging can run templates, broadcasts and a shared inbox for your team. It suits a business whose customers write more than they ring. It does not answer your phone.
Plainly
Who should pick what.
ThinnestAI fits when
- You want one agent for the phone and WhatsApp, with one history of each customer and a shared inbox where your staff take over.
- Your callers use English, Mandarin, Malay or Tamil by voice, and you want to hear each voice and test it from your browser before any customer does.
- You are a small team, such as an aircon firm, a clinic or a tuition centre, that needs a managed product rather than a build.
Something else fits better when
- Your callers speak Singlish or a Chinese dialect such as Hokkien or Teochew, which we do not claim. Use staff who speak it, or test a voice with them first.
- Your WhatsApp customers write in Mandarin or Malay and you want the agent to answer them in it. Chat replies are not available in those two.
- Your buyer asks for a security certificate we do not claim, or every caller needs a person from the first word.
