Voice AI platforms compared, for Bangladeshi businesses
For a Bangladeshi business the choice comes down to five checks: whether the agent speaks Bengali on the phone, whether you can keep your number, what BTRC directions and the Do Not Disturb service mean for promotional calls, what the 2025 Personal Data Protection Ordinance asks of you, and whether WhatsApp and billing suit a business that sells on Facebook. This page puts ThinnestAI beside three developer platforms on those checks, with the sources and the date we read them.
What to check
Five things to check before you choose, in Bangladesh.
Put the last column to every supplier you are weighing, ThinnestAI included.
| Check | Why it matters in Bangladesh | ThinnestAI | Ask any supplier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bengali on the phone | Callers in Dhaka often switch between Bengali and English in one sentence, and Sylheti and Chattogram speech are regional dialects of their own. | Voice agents speak Bengali and English, and Hindi too; filter the voice library by gender and age and listen before you choose. We do not claim Sylheti or Chattogram speech, and we do not claim that every Bengali and English switch will be followed. Test with your customers' real phrases. | Can I hear Bengali voices first, and which regional speech do you say you support? |
| A number you can keep | A diagnostic centre or restaurant in Dhaka has one number on its prescription slips, menus and listings, and customers ring it late at night. | Connect a number from your own Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account, or forward calls from another provider to one. We don't sell Bangladeshi numbers, and whether a carrier can offer a +880 number is for that carrier to say. Add Bangladesh to your Telnyx outbound voice profile before you call out. | Can the agent answer the number my patients or customers already know, and what happens to it if I leave? |
| Promotional calls and Do Not Disturb | BTRC directed mobile operators on promotional SMS and automated calls, and on 24 April 2021 asked users to switch on the operators' Do Not Disturb service. Reports gave different overnight hours, so find the current circular. We found no rule that binds a business running its own calls (read 25 October 2026). | You set calling hours per campaign on the called person's clock and keep your own do-not-contact list. The agent checks no register and holds no consent record. Your opening line says who is calling and why, and it can say the caller is an AI. | Can I keep calls out of overnight hours, and who checks my list before a campaign starts? |
| Data ordinance and recording | The Personal Data Protection Ordinance, 2025 (Ordinance No. 61 of 2025) was gazetted on 6 November 2025. Reports differ on when its sections take effect and call its transfer standard unclear. We could not verify a rule on recording calls (read 25 October 2026). | Recording is a per-agent switch that stays off until you turn it on, so you can tell callers first. We make no claim that the product meets the Ordinance. We support region deployments for enterprise customers; the privacy policy covers processing that involves other countries, and a Bangladeshi adviser can say what the transfer rule means for you. | Is recording off by default, and what do you give me in writing for my own data-law review? |
| Facebook pages, WhatsApp and billing | Many businesses first meet customers on a Facebook page, and online shops confirm cash-on-delivery orders by phone before shipping. | One agent answers the phone, WhatsApp, website chat and Telegram, with one memory of each customer. Facebook Messenger and Instagram are not channels it answers, so plan to move those customers to WhatsApp or your website. Billing is in US dollars by card, converted by your bank into taka. | Does the agent answer Facebook messages, and can I pay in taka? |

Other options
Other kinds of supplier in Bangladesh.
Kinds of supplier, not companies. Each is the right call for someone.
A staffed answering service
Bengali-speaking staff can follow a Sylheti or Chattogram speaker and judge a worried patient. It is the better call when every caller needs a person from the first word, and it cannot take a hundred calls at once.
A cloud-PBX or auto-attendant supplier
A phone-system supplier routes calls by menu and to staff phones, which is simple and familiar. A menu does not understand a question about test preparation or book a slot, and it leaves no transcript.
A local WhatsApp provider
A WhatsApp provider can send templates and run a shared inbox for an online shop. Phone calls need a second tool, and the history of one customer sits in two places.
Plainly
Who should pick what.
ThinnestAI fits when
- You run a diagnostic centre, clinic or restaurant and want after-hours Bengali or English calls turned into bookings, with the request written down for morning staff.
- You run an online shop and want order questions on WhatsApp plus a call to confirm cash-on-delivery orders before they ship.
- You run a travel or visa agency that takes enquiries from families at home and abroad, and want each one taken down in full for a consultant to call back.
Something else fits better when
- Your callers speak Sylheti, Chattogram speech or another dialect. We claim none, so a person or another supplier is the better call.
- You take most orders in a Facebook page inbox. The agent answers neither Messenger nor Instagram, so a tool built for those inboxes fits better.
- Your bank or card cannot pay overseas merchants, and we bill in US dollars by card only. Settle payment first, or pick a supplier you can pay locally.
