Voice AI use cases in Bangladesh

A voice AI agent answers and makes phone calls in Bengali or English, books appointments, answers from your documents and passes the call to a person when it should. These are eight situations from Bangladeshi businesses where that fits, what the agent does, and what it will not do for you here.

Eight use cases

How businesses in Bangladesh use voice ai.

Fictional businesses in real places, to show what the agent does with calls.

01 — Ready-made garments · Gazipur

Covering the switchboard of a garment factory

A Gazipur factory gets calls from buyers' agents, suppliers and visitors, often outside office hours in other time zones. The agent answers in English, takes the topic and style or order number, and routes it to the right person or leaves a clear message.

  1. Greets in English and asks for the company, the order or style number and the topic.
  2. Answers visiting hours, location and audit-visit procedure from the knowledge base.
  3. Transfers to the merchandiser or compliance contact, or takes a message with a callback time.

Callers from abroad get a prompt answer and the team starts the day with their details written down.

02 — Private hospital · Dhanmondi, Dhaka

Booking outpatient appointments in Bengali

Patients ring for doctors' timings and appointments, especially in the evening. The agent answers in Bengali, books a slot with the right doctor through Cal.com and explains how to bring reports and a prescription.

  1. Asks the specialty or doctor and the preferred day.
  2. Reads out open slots and books the one the patient chooses.
  3. Tells the patient what to bring from your instructions.
  4. Transfers urgent or clinical calls to a person.

Evening callers get a booked slot, and reception works from a list in the morning.

03 — Freight and C&F agent · Chattogram port area

Answering shipment and document questions for a freight forwarder

Importers and exporters ring to ask whether a container has cleared and which documents are missing. The agent answers common questions from your document checklist, looks up a shipment status through your API, and routes the rest to the officer.

  1. Asks for the file or container reference.
  2. Looks up status through a tool call into your own system.
  3. Lists the documents still needed from your checklist.
  4. Transfers to the responsible officer when the caller asks, on a Plivo or Telnyx number.

Routine status calls are handled and the officers deal with the files that need judgement.

04 — Travel agency · Zindabazar, Sylhet

Taking calls from relatives abroad outside Bangladesh hours

Many enquiries come from relatives in other time zones, at hours when the office is shut. The agent answers in Bengali or English, takes the destination, dates and number of travellers, and a consultant calls back in office hours.

  1. Takes name, number and where the caller is, so the callback respects their clock.
  2. Notes destination, dates and number of travellers.
  3. Schedules a consultant callback inside the calling hours you set.

Enquiries made at odd hours are waiting, complete, when the consultant arrives.

05 — Real estate · Bashundhara R/A, Dhaka

Confirming site visits for an apartment developer

People who asked about a flat on the developer's website are called back by the agent, who asks the size, handover date and payment route, books a site visit and calls to confirm it the day before.

  1. Says who is calling and why, and offers to stop, before any question.
  2. Asks flat size, timing and whether funds are own, loan or both.
  3. Books a site visit through Cal.com.
  4. Rings the day before to confirm or move the visit.

Salespeople spend their weekend on visits that are booked and confirmed.

06 — Online fashion shop · Mirpur, Dhaka

Rescheduling failed deliveries

When a courier could not deliver, the shop's agent rings the buyer, asks when someone will be home and records a new delivery window, so the order is not returned unnecessarily.

  1. Introduces itself, says why it is calling and offers to stop.
  2. Confirms the address and asks for a better time.
  3. Records the new window and the outcome, or a cancellation.
  4. Schedules a callback if the buyer cannot talk.

Fewer parcels come back, and the support team sees every outcome in one place.

07 — Coaching centre · Khulna

Answering coaching-centre admission calls

Parents ring about batches, fees and results. The agent answers in Bengali from the centre's documents and books a counselling visit, so the staff are not tied to the phone at the start of a term.

  1. Answers on batches, timings and fee schedules from the knowledge base.
  2. Asks the class and subjects, and the parent's preferred visit time.
  3. Books a counselling slot and records the outcome.

Enquiries are answered at once and counsellors meet families that have already been qualified.

08 — Restaurant · Gulshan, Dhaka

Taking table bookings and catering enquiries

The restaurant's phone rings at the dinner rush. The agent takes table bookings and catering enquiries in Bengali or English and answers ingredient and menu questions only from the menu you upload.

  1. Asks date, time and party size and checks your booking rules.
  2. For catering, notes the event date, number of guests and a contact for the manager.
  3. Passes outcomes to staff through the outcome and webhook you set up.

Peak-time calls are answered and the manager follows up only on catering requests.

In practice

How voice ai is used in Bangladesh.

  • We found no reliable national figure for phone-versus-WhatsApp use among businesses in Bangladesh, so we do not quote one. The phone remains how many customers book and ask, and many businesses first meet customers on Facebook.
  • Voice agents speak Bengali and English, and Hindi too. Regional speech such as Sylheti or Chattogram dialects is not claimed. Callers often mix Bengali and English, so test with real phrases.
  • The agent uses a number you hold on your own Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account; we do not sell Bangladeshi numbers, and whether a carrier can offer a +880 number is for that carrier to say.

Plainly

What this will not do for you in Bangladesh.

So you can rule it in or out before you start.

  • No Sylheti, Chattogram or other dialect claim; test with your own callers.
  • Transfer to a person and voicemail detection do not work on an imported Twilio number.
  • We do not sell or rent Bangladeshi numbers, and the platform sets no calling window of its own: you set the hours per campaign.
  • Facebook Messenger and Instagram are not channels the agent answers.

The rules

The rules that apply in Bangladesh.

The rules differ by country and change; you are responsible for following them where you operate.

Promotional calls and the Do Not Disturb service

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has directed mobile operators about promotional messages and automated calls. BTRC was reported in 2018 as telling operators to stop promotional SMS and automated (IVR) calls overnight and during religious observances, with different overnight hours in different reports, so we state no figure. On 24 April 2021 BTRC asked users to switch on the operators' Do Not Disturb service to stop promotional texts, and a 2024 column noted that it does not stop messages from senders who are not the operator. These directions are addressed to operators; we did not find a rule that directly binds a business running its own calling campaign, a rule on calling hours for it, or one on AI-voiced calls. We do not screen numbers against any register; keep your own do-not-contact list and set hours per campaign. Read on 25 October 2026; see the BTRC website; not legal advice.

Recording and personal data

We could not verify a Bangladeshi rule on recording calls, so say in your opening line that a call may be recorded and keep recording off unless you need it (it is off by default). The Personal Data Protection Ordinance, 2025 (Ordinance No. 61 of 2025) was gazetted on 6 November 2025; as reported by The Daily Star and The Business Standard it requires informed, freely given consent, reaches foreign entities handling Bangladeshi citizens' data and allows transfers out of Bangladesh only where the recipient gives equivalent protection, a standard reports call unclear. Reports differ on phase-in timing. We support region deployments for enterprise customers. Read on 25 October 2026; not legal advice.

Questions

Common questions.

Can a voice AI agent speak Bengali?

+
Yes. Voice agents speak Bengali and English, and Hindi. Choose a voice from the library after listening to a preview, and test with the Bengali and English mixes your callers use.

Does it understand Sylheti or Chattogram dialects?

+
We do not claim it. Test with your own callers, and keep a person available for calls the agent cannot follow.

Can I keep my Bangladeshi number?

+
If it lives on a Twilio, Telnyx or Plivo account you hold, or if calls can be forwarded to a number there. We do not sell Bangladeshi numbers.

Is the Do Not Disturb service checked before calls?

+
No. The platform does not screen numbers against any register. You keep your own do-not-contact list and set calling hours per campaign.

How do I pay from Bangladesh?

+
Paid plans are billed in US dollars by card; your bank converts the charge and decides whether overseas payments are allowed. You can start free first; see the pricing page.
